Creating a Nimble Organization (Video)

by Dave Logan on February 10, 2011

Watch this brief three minute interview with Dave Logan.

Highlights are:

  • Organizations need to be more nimble than they were before, or they may expire.
  • Leaders need to be able to talk at all Five Stages of Culture. Examples are the speeches of Winston Churchill and Martin Luther King.
  • The problem is not finding a strategy, rather executing it. Find a strategy that people are willing to do.

Like the idea mentioned in Dave’s video that strategy is not the difficult thing to come up with– it’s executing it and finding the right people to carry it through. Plus the mention of Churchill’s & MLK various speech levels. Enjoyed the video. Thanks.

Great interview Dave,
Nimbleness is indeed a competitive advantage and must be lived by all in an organisation.
Understanding that an executable strategy is a sustainable strategy is key to all improvement initiatives.
Thanks for clarifying so effectively in just 3 mins.

I will share with Velteo,

What is the difference between nimble and agile? They seem very close. The book, Leadership Agility, is getting some great raves. I’ve ordered it. :-)

The examples of Churchill and MLK’s speeches in the framework of the TL stages makes so much sense and I know I want to rethink my talks going forward in this way. Thanks for sharing!

The idea of being nimble is brilliant. The analysis of the economic recovery being a series of the rapid growth and sudden drops is exactly what those of us in the serivce business have been experiencing.
